The Geneva Academy Student Council

The Geneva Academy Student Council (GASC) promotes the interests and welfare of Geneva Academy students. This ensures they all enjoy the richest student experience possible during their stay in Geneva.

Membership

Every student of the LLM in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights and the Master of Advanced Studies in Transitional Justice, Human Rights and the Rule of Law is a GASC member. They can therefore attend its meetings, parties and discussions, as well as stand for a position such as President, Student Officer or Secretary.

Objectives

The GASC members work together to:

  • Welcome new students
  • Offer a diverse array of social and cultural activities
  • Represent Geneva Academy students’ interests
  • Communicate effectively with the Geneva Academy Student Office and directorate

Scholarships

We offer scholarships to outstanding students who are unable to secure the funding required to cover tuition fees and/or the cost of living in Geneva.

At first, I thought distance learning was going to be an overwhelming challenge, but over time I have come to realize that it is almost the same as attending the classes in person as it was very interactive. It was particularly convenient in the situation of a global pandemic and time-saving for a person who is maintaining a full-time job as well.
