Stefan G. Ziegler is a Swiss national with 25 years of experience in the fields of research and advocacy related to humanitarian action. Currently Mr. Ziegler is producing documentary films about international law with which he also lectures, demonstrating the power of film in humanitarian diplomacy and academia. His latest documentary film 'The Mandate – for whom international law matters' was released in December 2024.
His Geneva-based company, AdvocacyProductions , has showcased and debated their award-winning film 'BROKEN – A Palestinian Journey Through International Law' at events worldwide. The film is now integrated into numerous leading universities’ curricula. He continues working in the humanitarian and development domains, predominantly through coaching and teaching. He worked for nine years for UNRWA in Palestine, the ICRC and served as OSCE head of reporting in eastern Ukraine.
PeaceHumanity, a Bratislava based international law NGO, appointed him 'Patron of Youth Ambassadors for the Right to Peace' movement. He has given presentations at the EU Parliament, the UN Headquarters in New York and Geneva and various other international fora. He regularly gives guest lectures at the Graduate Institute, University of Geneva, EPFL, Politecnico di Milano, Cornell and Lyon 3.
His publications include a recent article entitled 'Advocacy, what’s in a name?' - a research project conducted by students at the Graduate Institute. Many of his publications appeared with UNOCHA and UNRWA. Stefan G. Ziegler figured as guest editor-in-chief at NAWI, Espol University, Ecuador and co-authored 'Cinematography, A Medium in International Studies – The Germination of a Documentary'
