Robin van der Lugt is an Associate Researcher at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, where he focuses on projects related to international law and authoritarianism, as well as human rights and prevention. His expertise spans human rights law, transitional justice, and counterterrorism.

Before joining the Geneva Academy, Robin contributed to the Counter-Terror Pro LegEm research project as a research intern, where he explored international humanitarian law and international criminal law perspectives on issues such as pledging allegiance, group membership, and United Nations Security Council designation and listing. He also gained experience as a research trainee at the Asser Institute in The Hague, contributing to Global Counterterrorism Forum-funded projects.

Robin holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Transitional Justice, Human Rights, and the Rule of Law from the Geneva Academy (2023) and an LL.M. in International Law and Global Justice from the University of Antwerp (2021).
